Promoting The Second International Congress of Polish History Contest “Poland and its neighbours. History of deep friendships and tragic conflicts”

In the first half of 2011 Polish Historical Association, Krakow Branch, organized a contest for high school students from Małopolska region titled “Poland and its neighbours. History of deep friendships and tragic conflicts.” This contest aimed at promoting The Second International Congress of Polish History among young people. The contest's results were announced on 10 June 2011. The members of the Contest Committee who assessed the works were:

 

Prof. Andrzej Chwalba – Vice President of the Contest Committee

Prof. Maciej Salamon – Member of  the Contest Committee

Prof. Stanisław Sroka –  Member of  the Contest Committee

Dr hab. Marek Wilczyński, prof. UP –  Member of  the Contest Committee

Prof. Krzysztof Zamorski –  President of  the Contest Committee

 

            The first prize was awarded to Konrad Chlebda, the student of XXV Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Stefana Żeromskiego in Krakow, who submitted an essay titled “Polish-Romanian relationships in the interwar period. Socius Oblitus.”

            Among other prize winners were also the two students: Paulina Kalisz, the student of XXV Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Stefana Żeromskiego in Krakow (the author of an essay “Chapter 1920”) and Ernestyna Niemiec, the student of IV Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Olkusz (the title of her essay: “Aborigines of the great lakes).

            The prize winners will be awarded valuable books. The award ceremony will take place in Auditorium Maximum of Jagiellonian University on 13 September 2012 during the inauguration of The Second International Congress of Polish History.
